L'Aquila expands jazz and cultural initiatives
The city of L'Aquila is expanding its cultural infrastructure through the 12th edition of the festival ‘Il Jazz Italiano per le Terre del Sisma’ and the inauguration of a new dedicated headquarters for the association ‘Il Jazz all’Aquila ETS’.
The upcoming festival, themed ‘Riflessi’ (Reflections), will feature over 300 artists performing across more than 20 locations in the historic center, including squares, churches, and museums. This edition holds particular significance as it aligns with L'Aquila's designation as the ‘Italian Capital of Culture 2026’.
Additionally, the association ‘Il Jazz all’Aquila ETS’ has opened a new headquarters in Bazzano. This facility will house the Pasquale Golia Jazz Music Studies Center, a space designed for cultural formation, social inclusion, and combating educational poverty through music. Local officials emphasized that the center serves as a social infrastructure to foster community relations and provide opportunities for younger generations.
