L’Aquila hosts CiAq Film Festival and AVIS Donor Weekend

L’Aquila, serving as the Italian Capital of Culture 2026, is hosting significant cultural and social events. The first edition of the CiAq Film Festival is scheduled from September 17 to 20, 2026. Organized by the Innovahub Cultural Association, the festival will feature 79 works, including 12 feature films, 24 documentaries, and 43 short films. The event aims to promote cinema as a collective experience through screenings at venues such as Teatro San Filippo and Palazzo Ciccozzi, alongside professional masterclasses and workshops.

Additionally, the city hosted the fourth AVIS Donor Weekend from September 11 to 13, 2026. This event, organized by AVIS Nazionale in collaboration with regional and provincial branches, brought together various AVIS associations from across Italy to promote blood donation and social solidarity. The weekend serves as a platform for networking and strengthening the culture of voluntary donation among citizens and institutions.
