L'Aquila unveils Tito centennial exhibition and experimental bus‑parking fees as 2026 Capital of Culture

On 20 August 2026 the MuBAq Museo dei Bambini L'Aquila opened the travelling exhibition “TITO, 100 anni attraverso la forma” in Palazzo Spaventa. The show marks the 100th anniversary of artist Ferdinando Amodei, known as Tito, and is part of the programme for L'Aquila’s designation as Italy’s Capital of Culture 2026. It features works from private collections and is accompanied by a scholarly publication edited by Sandra Leone and Alessandra Scerrato.

The city council also approved experimental tariffs for tourist‑bus parking at the Lorenzo Natali terminal in Collemaggio. A daily fee of €60 or €40 for stays up to six hours will apply to the eight current bays, with the measure running until 31 December 2026. The policy aims to manage the growing visitor numbers linked to the Capital of Culture events and to fund the terminal’s ongoing refurbishment.
