Large Wildfire Near Külsővat in Veszprém County, Hungary
A fire engulfed roughly 20 hectares of dry grass, farmland and forest understory near Külsővat in Veszprém County, spreading to the roof of an unused farm building and several hay bales. Firefighters from the municipal brigades of Pápa, Ajka, Sárvár, Csorna, Kapuvár and Celldömölk were deployed under the direction of the county disaster‑relief service. No injuries were reported.
In the preceding 72 hours, Hungarian fire services responded to eleven outdoor fire incidents, two vehicle fires and six technical rescues across the country. Notable events included a gasoline‑powered car fire on the M6 highway near Paks (km 106) and a three‑hectare grass, gaza and acacia blaze in Mecseknádas. All incidents were extinguished without casualties.
