Larino Community Hospital and Casa della Comunità Opened in Molise

A ribbon‑cutting ceremony marked the inauguration of the new Community Hospital and Casa della Comunità in Larino, Molise. Built with funds from Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the facility includes 20 low‑intensity inpatient beds, a rehabilitation area with 50 beds (20 orthopaedic, 30 neurological), and a residential care unit with 40 beds for Alzheimer’s patients and those with high sociosanitary needs. The centre also hosts a range of specialist outpatient services, primary‑care doctors, paediatricians, a point‑of‑access for integrated home care and a vaccination and laboratory hub, aiming to bring comprehensive health services closer to residents and ease pressure on the emergency department of the San Timoteo Hospital in Termoli.

Regional President Francesco Roberti and ASReM Director General Giovanni Di Santo praised the project as a strategic step for proximity medicine and continuity of care. Opposition councilors Vito Di Maria, Salvatore Faiella and Maria Giovanna Civitella also welcomed the opening, noting that it restores essential services after the traditional hospital’s 2016 closure and should improve health outcomes for the Basso Molise population.
