Larissa Folklore Museum to host heritage event in September 2026
The George and Lena Gourgiti Folklore Historical Museum in Larissa will host ‘Folklore Days’ from September 17 to September 20, 2026. The four-day event is part of the ‘Thessaly 2021–2027’ NSRF program, co-financed by the European Union.
The program focuses on traditional crafts, heritage, and living culture through various educational and experiential activities. Scheduled events include theatrical plays for school groups, painting workshops for adults, and an experiential workshop for printers.
Other highlights include a workshop on decorating the traditional wedding ‘kouloura’ of Aspropyrgos, Attica, and an exhibition titled ‘27+26 Traces of Hand for a Museum’. The event also features a workshop titled ‘Wood Tells a Story,’ which explores the construction, use, and museum narrative of wood as a medium of human labor and technical knowledge.
