The George and Lena Gourgiti Folklore Historical Museum in Larissa is hosting the inaugural ‘Giorgos and Lena Gourgiti Days of Folklore’ from September 17 to September 20, 2026. The exhibition facilitates a dialogue between 27 objects from the museum’s permanent collections and 26 works by contemporary Greek artists. The total of 53 pieces commemorates the 53 years of the museum’s operation.

The four-day program includes theatrical plays, school group actions, and various experiential workshops for adults, children, and families. Scheduled activities cover painting, weaving, traditional stamping, the maintenance of wooden objects, and a workshop on decorating the traditional wedding ‘kouloura’ of Aspropyrgos, Attica.
