Larissa Mental Health Center hosts community awareness initiatives
The Cultural Center of Educators of Larissa (POKEL) visited the Larissa Mental Health Center to learn about recent community initiatives held in honor of World Mental Health Day. The activities, which took place from October 9 to 11 in Larissa's Central Square, were organized by the Mental Health Center in collaboration with Mobile Mental Health Units for adults, children, and adolescents, the Municipality of Larissa, and the Association of Friends of the Mental Health Center.
The initiative aimed to promote mental health as an essential component of overall well-being. Through public engagement, the program focused on educating citizens about mental health issues, recognizing early signs of psychological distress, and teaching simple techniques for managing anxiety and emotional tension. Additional goals included strengthening mental resilience, encouraging timely help-seeking, combating social stigma, and informing the public about available mental health services.
