Larissa police seize 538 cannabis plants in Tempi, Greece

Police from the Drug Enforcement Unit of Larissa conducted a coordinated raid on July 23, 2026, in the municipality of Tempi. They uncovered an organized cannabis cultivation site with two separate plots covering about 2,000 m² and 1,000 m².

A total of 538 cannabis plants, ranging from 0.15 m to 1.20 m in height, were found—354 in the larger plot and 184 in the smaller one. The operation also revealed a makeshift water‑storage tank, an irrigation network, a resting area, a cooking space, and various fertilizers and other cultivation supplies. Mobile phones belonging to the suspects were seized. Two foreign men, aged 26 and 69, were arrested, placed under a criminal case for drug‑law violations, and taken to the Larissa misdemeanor prosecutor.
