Cyprus authorities, in coordination with Danish Police and Europol, have thwarted a planned double murder of two foreign siblings traveling to Cyprus for vacation. The plot was uncovered after the suspects attempted to hire a contract killer through the internet.

In a sting operation, the individuals contacted an undercover Danish police officer who was posing as an assassin. Upon realizing the intended targets were in Cyprus, the officer alerted Danish authorities, who then coordinated with Europol and the Cyprus Police to initiate a joint investigation.

Three suspects—one Irish national and two Norwegians—were arrested in the Larnaca and Famagusta provinces. Investigations revealed that the group had offered approximately €85,000 (650,000 Danish kroner) for the killings. The suspects were brought before the Famagusta District Court, where an eight-day detention order was issued.
