Larsen & Toubro secures Middle East offshore order and implements green hydrogen IoT

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major offshore development order in the Middle East. The project, awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, involves the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of multiple offshore facilities. A significant portion of the fabrication work will be conducted at the company’s integrated manufacturing facilities.

In a separate development, L&T has partnered with Mindtree to implement digital command and control solutions for its green hydrogen plant in Hazira, Gujarat. The IoT-based solution utilizes AI/ML algorithms and real-time data from electrolyzer instrumentation to manage the plant. This technology aims to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint by mixing green hydrogen with natural gas used in welding and heat treatment operations, enhancing both operational efficiency and sustainability goals.
