Las Vegas Raiders seek $158M Allegiant Stadium upgrades

The Las Vegas Stadium Authority is considering a $158 million upgrade project for the north entrance of Allegiant Stadium. The proposal aims to address capacity issues and improve the guest experience by creating a new “front door” for the venue. The planned improvements include a pedestrian deck, a public plaza, an event deck, and various transportation enhancements designed to provide a more direct path for fans arriving from the Las Vegas Strip.

The funding for the project is split between public and private sources. The Las Vegas Raiders are seeking $75 million from the Las Vegas Stadium Authority, which would be drawn from existing taxpayer funds via surplus room tax revenue. The Raiders would privately fund the remaining $83 million.

If approved, construction is expected to begin after the current Raiders season concludes. The goal is to complete the upgrades by late 2028 or prior to the 2029 Super Bowl, which is scheduled to be held at the stadium. Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan noted that the current north side infrastructure is “stretched to capacity.”
