Las Vegas Stadium Authority approves $75M for Allegiant Stadium upgrades

The Las Vegas Stadium Authority has unanimously approved $75 million in public funds for a $158 million upgrade to the north entrance of Allegiant Stadium. The Las Vegas Raiders will cover the remaining $83 million of the project costs.

The improvements aim to alleviate congestion at the north entrance, which has become a pressure point for guest experiences. The project will include the addition of pedestrian and event decks, a plaza, and transportation enhancements to create a more direct, elevated walkway for fans traveling from the Las Vegas Strip.

Public funding for the project will be drawn from surplus hotel room tax revenue, a fund established by state lawmakers in 2016 to assist with the stadium's original construction. Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, noted that the stadium is a critical community asset for driving tourism.

Construction is expected to begin after the Raiders' current season concludes, with a target completion date in late 2028 or prior to the 2029 Super Bowl.
