LATAM adds direct São Paulo flights to Ushuaia and Punta Cana
LATAM Airlines Brasil inaugurated a nonstop service from São Paulo Guarulhos to Ushuaia, Argentina, on Tuesday. The flight LA8174 carried more than 190 passengers and will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with an A321 seating up to 209 people, running through 31 August. The new route aims to boost winter tourism in Tierra del Fuego and strengthen the Brazil‑Argentina travel market.
In a separate launch, LATAM also began a direct São Paulo‑to‑Punta Cana service, highlighted by Dominican Republic Ambassador Robert Takata as a historic step for bilateral tourism and investment ties. The connection eliminates a major travel barrier for Brazilian visitors, supports the 115‑year diplomatic relationship, and is expected to increase tourist flows to the Dominican Republic’s Caribbean resorts.
Both routes are part of LATAN’s broader strategy to expand its network in South America and the Caribbean, targeting higher visitor numbers, greater regional consumption and deeper economic links between Brazil and its neighboring markets.
