Latam aircraft makes emergency landing in Porto Alegre

A Latam Airlines Brasil Airbus A320 flight from São Paulo/Congonhas to Porto Alegre performed an emergency landing at Salgado Filho International Airport on Thursday morning, October 22. The aircraft, carrying 117 people, requested priority landing after a technical issue caused one of its engines to shut down while flying over Curitiba.

The landing was completed safely without the need for ground assistance, and all passengers disembarked without incident. Firefighters were deployed to the scene as a preventive measure, causing a temporary closure of the runway during procedures.

Due to the required maintenance for the aircraft, the return flight to São Paulo was canceled. Latam stated that affected passengers would be reacommodated throughout the day in accordance with National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) regulations.
