LATAM Airlines earns cabin service award as passenger traffic rises in Colombia

LATAM Airlines was named the best cabin service provider in South America at the APEX Best™ Awards 2026, its third such accolade, during a ceremony on 10 June in Dublin, Ireland. The award is based on anonymous passenger ratings of more than one million flights via the TripIt app and follows a previous win for Best In‑flight Entertainment.

In May, LATAM transported 7.2 million passengers, a 5 % increase year‑on‑year, with capacity (ASK) up 10.8 %. International traffic grew 13.3 %, while domestic operations in Brazil and other South American subsidiaries also rose. The airline reopened Bogotá–Caracas and Buenos Aires–Rio de Janeiro routes and added a long‑haul Fortaleza–Miami service, boosting connectivity between Brazil and the United States. Occupancy stood at 82.2 % and cargo capacity increased 6 % to 730 million ATK, moving 88 000 tonnes of freight.
