LATAM Airlines expands Brazil fleet with over 40 new jets by 2026

LATAM Airlines Group announced an acceleration of its fleet renewal, targeting the addition of more than 40 new‑generation aircraft to its Brazilian operations by the end of 2026. The carrier has already taken delivery of 13 aircraft in the first half of the year and expects another 28 deliveries before 2026 ends, bringing its total fleet to about 410 planes.

The new planes include Airbus A320neo and A321neo, Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliners and, for the first time, Embraer E195‑E2 (E190‑E2 in the Spanish version). These models will support up to 35 additional domestic routes in Brazil and improve service to regional airports. LATAM also plans to introduce its first Airbus A321XLR in 2027 to extend medium‑distance nonstop routes.

Vice‑president Sebastián Acuto said the renewal “allows us to grow more efficiently and meet the region’s connectivity needs.” The newer aircraft cut fuel burn and CO₂ emissions by 20‑25 % and lower maintenance costs, supporting LATAM’s goal of net‑zero emissions by 2050.
