LATAM Brazil takes delivery of first Embraer E195‑E2 jet

LATAM Airlines Brazil unveiled the first Embraer E195‑E2 aircraft at Embraer's Media Day in São José dos Campos. The narrow‑body jet will join LATAM's fleet in the fourth quarter of 2026 as part of a firm order for 24 aircraft worth roughly US$ 2.1 billion, with 50 additional purchase options.

The airline plans to use the E195‑E2 to boost connectivity in Brazil’s medium‑density markets, add 25‑30 new destinations and increase flight frequencies. CEO Jerome Cadier said the aircraft makes the fleet more versatile and supports sustainable growth. LATAM has already hired over 50 pilots and copilots for the new type and begun simulator and flight training. The aircraft’s paint scheme required unique branding adaptations, expanding the airline’s visual identity across the fuselage and engines.
