Latin American film festivals announce upcoming programming and calls for entries

The Alianza Francesa de Lima is hosting the ‘CineArt: Crear, mirar, transformar’ film cycle from September 17 to 19, 2026. Held at the Lumière cinema, the program explores the relationship between cinema and various artistic disciplines, such as painting, sculpture, and literature. Featured works include ‘Camille Claudel 1915’ by Bruno Dumont and ‘Van Gogh’ by Maurice Pialat. The event also includes a practical workshop titled ‘CineArt Lab: Collage’.

In Argentina, the Lapacho Latin American Short Film Festival has announced its 20th edition, scheduled for October 29–31, 2026. Organized by the Instituto de Cultura del Chaco, the festival has opened two calls for entries: one for completed works to enter official competitions (Official, Regional, and University categories) and a new incubator for audiovisual projects known as Lapacho LAB. The festival targets productions from Latin America and specific Argentine provinces, including Chaco, Corrientes, Formosa, Misiones, and Entre Ríos.
