Latin American film festival programming

Overview

In late August 2026, the Alianza Francesa de Lima hosted a film cycle at the Cine Lumière titled ‘Después del Festival: Clásicos restaurados del cine francés’. The event showcased restored versions of iconic works from directors such as Claude Chabrol, Agnès Varda, and Georges Franju.

By mid-September, the Alianza Francesa de Lima announced a subsequent program, ‘CineArt: Crear, mirar, transformar’, scheduled for September 17–19. This cycle focuses on the intersection of cinema with disciplines like painting and literature. Additionally, Argentina’s Lapacho Latin American Short Film Festival announced its 20th edition for late October, including a new incubator for audiovisual projects called Lapacho LAB.
