Latvia leads Baltic job creation via foreign investment
Foreign investment projects launched in Latvia in 2025 accounted for 46% of all new jobs created by such projects in the Baltic states, according to the 2026 European Attractiveness Survey by Ernst & Young (EY).
Latvia launched 28 new foreign investment projects last year, generating 1,015 jobs. In comparison, Lithuania recorded 30 projects that created 887 jobs, while Estonia saw seven projects generating 306 jobs. Across the three Baltic nations, a total of 65 projects were launched, resulting in 2,208 new jobs.
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) noted that while the results demonstrate the country's ability to compete for employment-heavy projects, there is a need to attract more technologically sophisticated investments to increase economic returns and create higher-paying roles.
