Latvia U16 men's basketball team wins first European Championship

The Latvia U16 men's national basketball team has won the European Championship for the first time in history. In the final held in Romania, Latvia defeated France with a score of 75:69, completing the tournament with an undefeated record.

Bendžamins Jānis Beruē was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was included in the symbolic All-Tournament Team. Beruē delivered a dominant performance in the final, recording 22 points and 13 rebounds. He also set a new efficiency record for the U16 championship with an average of 36.3 points per game.

Other key contributors for Latvia included Markuss Jahovičs, who earned a spot on the symbolic team, and Markuss Aleksandrovs. Following the victory, the team was scheduled to be welcomed home in Riga by fans and officials.
