Lithuania and Latvia see hot, dry start to August week

A dry, sunny spell will dominate the Baltic region at the start of the week of August 3‑9. In Lithuania, daytime temperatures are expected to rise to 27‑32 °C, with only brief showers later in the week. In Latvia, highs will reach 24‑29 °C on Monday, with generally clear skies and light winds.

Mid‑week, a cyclonic system moving in from the west will bring scattered rain and thunderstorms across both countries, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain warm but will begin to moderate, with highs in the high 20s and lows dropping to the low teens at night. By the weekend, cooler air will return, bringing milder conditions and a lower chance of rain.

Overall, the forecast calls for a hot, dry start, a brief period of unsettled weather mid‑week, and a cooler finish to the week for the Lithuanian and Latvian territories.
