Latvian youth basketball: U‑16 women win Baltic Cup, U‑18 lose in Europe
The Latvian U‑16 women's team captured the Baltic Cup in Riga, defeating Ukraine 77‑56. Marta Pētersone led scoring with 23 points, while Darina Ivanova added 16. The squad is coached by Elvīns Brokāns with support from Kaspars Bože, Liene Jansone and Ivars Ikstens.
In the European U‑18 women's championship, Latvia suffered narrow defeats. The team lost to Poland 70‑72 in Group D, with Mila Luzgina scoring 12 points and Ieva Vēvere 15.
