Latvia weather forecast predicts heavy rain and thunderstorms

Latvia is experiencing a period of significant rainfall, with 20 out of 33 observation stations already exceeding their monthly precipitation norms for September.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that wet weather and thunderstorms will persist through the beginning of the week. Heavy rain showers and potential thunderstorms are expected across much of the country, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 17 m/s along the coast. Temperatures are expected to remain relatively cool, with daytime highs ranging between +11°C and +18°C.

While new cyclones are expected to move away mid-week, allowing for slightly better weather toward the weekend due to anticyclonic influence, additional precipitation zones are forecasted to cross the country from the east. Fog is also expected in eastern regions during the night and morning, which may reduce visibility.
