Latvia weather: Rainfall exceeds monthly norms as new cyclone approaches

Latvia is experiencing significant rainfall, with several observation stations already exceeding the monthly norm for September. Notable areas include Priekuļi, which recorded 127.4 mm against a norm of 58.1 mm, Zosēnu at 97.8 mm, and Saldus at 83.5 mm.

The weather forecast indicates a period of variable conditions. While the beginning of the week may see slightly drier weather and calmer winds, a new cyclone is expected to influence the region starting Tuesday afternoon. This will likely bring widespread rain and gusty winds, particularly along the coast.

Temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable, with daytime highs ranging between +16°C and +22°C. Fog is anticipated in the nights and early mornings, particularly in western and eastern regions, which may impact visibility.
