In Mexico, legislative and community efforts are intensifying to advance gender equality and indigenous rights. Senator Laura Itzel Castillo Juárez has emphasized the ongoing challenge of achieving substantive equality to ensure women can fully exercise their rights. Following her term as President of the Senate Board, she is designated to serve as the Secretary of Women under President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

To highlight indigenous voices, Senator Edith López Hernández presented ‘Origen y Palabra en Tribuna’, a book compiling messages from 15 indigenous women delivered during Senate sessions. This initiative, supported by Castillo Juárez, aims to recognize Mexico's pluricultural nature and promote linguistic rights by allowing indigenous language speakers to participate formally in parliamentary debates.

Additionally, Senator Lizeth Sánchez García has called for constitutional recognition of traditional medicine and indigenous midwifery to protect ancestral knowledge. Meanwhile, local initiatives like the ‘Ser Mujer’ International Forum are focusing on addressing political violence against women and promoting their participation in public life.
