Laurez Moreira pledges healthcare improvements in Tocantins
Laurez Moreira (PSD), the Vice-Governor and candidate for the government of Tocantins, met with the leadership of the Tocantins State Health Workers Union (Sintras-TO) in Palmas. During the meeting, Moreira signed a document outlining the union's demands and pledged to prioritize public health and the valorization of civil servants.
Moreira’s healthcare platform includes the construction of four Regionalized State Polyclinics to serve the Bico do Papagaio, Médio Norte Araguaia, Sudeste, and Ilha do Bananal regions. This initiative aims to decentralize care and reduce travel to major urban centers. Additionally, the candidate proposes creating three new Medical Specialty Outpatient Clinics (AMEs) focused on high-risk obstetric care in the Bico do Papagaio, Sudeste, and Ilha do Bananal regions.
Other key proposals involve strengthening Primary Health Care within the Unified Health System (SUS) to improve prevention and reduce hospital overcrowding. The meeting was also attended by vice-candidate Coronel Silva Neto (PSD) and Senate candidate Paulo Mourão (PT).
