Lauro de Freitas expands higher‑education access through UNEB partnership

The municipality of Lauro de Freitas, via its Municipal Education Secretariat, has teamed up with the State University of Bahia (UNEB) to open a Special Selective Process for the 2026 remaining vacancies. The online application period runs from 28 July to 2 August and covers four programs: Administration (Bacharelado) and Pedagogy (Licenciatura) offered on‑site, and Music (Licenciatura) and Inclusive Education (Licenciatura) delivered through distance learning. A total of 19 seats are available – nine for Administration, five for Pedagogy, four for Music and one for Inclusive Education – with competition, quota reservations and affirmative‑action slots. Coordinator Thiago Brandão highlighted that the initiative restores the UAB pole after years of inactivity, providing free public university places that can transform lives and support the city’s social and economic development.
