Lautaro Martinez sidelined by muscle injury

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez will be unavailable for several weeks due to a muscle injury. The Argentine striker suffered a strain to his left thigh flexors during a Champions League match against Club Brugge.

Medical staff have opted for a conservative recovery approach to prevent recurrence, meaning Martinez is expected to return only after the international break in mid-November. His absence will impact at least seven matches, including crucial fixtures in Serie A and the Champions League against opponents such as Shakhtar, Fiorentina, AC Milan, and Feyenoord.

Following Inter's recent victory against Bologna, Martinez shared a message to fans on Instagram expressing his frustration and longing to return to the pitch, stating, “I miss you so much.” Manager Simone Inzaghi will need to adjust his attacking tactics in the interim, with players like Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic expected to provide depth.
