Lautaro Martínez injury sidelines Inter captain and threatens Argentina selection

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez has suffered a muscle strain in his left thigh following a Champions League match against Club Brugge. Medical examinations at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano confirmed the injury, which is expected to keep the striker sidelined for at least four to six weeks. This injury will force Martínez to miss several key fixtures for Inter, including the Milan derby and upcoming Champions League matches.

The injury also impacts the Argentina national team, as Martínez is unlikely to participate in the upcoming November FIFA international window. The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has confirmed that the national team will play two friendly matches: against Uruguay on November 13 in Buenos Aires and against Costa Rica on November 17 in Córdoba. These matches will mark the first period of play for the squad without Lionel Messi.

In addition to Martínez, Argentina will also be without Nahuel Molina and Leandro Paredes for the November fixtures due to ongoing suspensions.
