Lava launches Virat V1 smartphone in India on July 21

Indian smartphone maker Lava announced that its first Virat series device, the Lava Virat V1, will be released in India on 21 July at 12 PM IST. The phones – a 5G model and a 4G variant – will be sold exclusively through the e‑commerce platform Flipkart.

The devices feature a flat rear panel with a squircle‑shaped dual‑camera module housing a 13‑megapixel primary sensor and an LED flash. They will be offered in blue, white and gold colour options, include a USB‑Type C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and are expected to have an IP‑rated design for dust and water resistance. The 5G model is highlighted for a two‑day battery life, though full specifications such as processor, display and storage remain undisclosed.

Lava has created a dedicated microsite on Flipkart for the Virat V1 series and positioned the launch as the start of an online‑first smartphone lineup targeting multiple price segments.
