Lavender Garden at Kayseri’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Park Draws Crowds

The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, led by Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, created a lavender garden within the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Park. Covering about 7,500 sqm, the garden hosts roughly 5,000 lavender plants that bloom from June through August, turning the area a vivid purple and filling it with fragrance.

Visitors can enjoy scenic views of Erciyes Mountain and use four specially designed photo stations featuring vintage carts, frames and seating. After harvest in August, the municipality processes the lavender into oil and cologne at its own refining facilities, providing both a visual attraction and a source of value‑added products for the public.
