Lavender Harvest Celebrations in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece and Fethiye

Local municipalities in Turkey organized lavender harvest festivals in two regions. In Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district, the municipal mayor's office hosted the eighth edition of the Lavender Harvest Festival, with officials, producers and citizens cutting lavender bundles, taking photos and participating in a breath‑therapy session.

In the coastal town of Fethiye, officials from the municipality and a women's cooperative led the fifth lavender harvest, providing free shuttle service, live music and opportunities for residents to pick lavender and other aromatic herbs. Both events emphasized community engagement, local agriculture and cultural tourism.
