PiS unveils economic program and tax reform proposals

The Law and Justice (PiS) party has unveiled a comprehensive economic program aimed at reforming the Polish tax system and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. A central pillar of the proposal is the reversal of certain 'Polish Deal' regulations, specifically regarding health insurance contributions. The party proposes returning to the pre-2020 rules for entrepreneurs on the tax scale and lump-sum taxation, which would allow for different deduction methods and potentially lower costs for many businesses.

Other key proposals include replacing the Corporate Income Tax (CIT) with a 1.5% turnover tax, implementing annual indexation of tax thresholds, and suspending the mandatory National e-Invoice System (KSeF) for small and medium enterprises for two to three years. Experts estimate the total cost of these reforms could reach approximately 50 billion PLN.

In a separate political development, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is advancing his new political movement, Rozwój Plus. He announced plans to register the movement as a formal political party to contest upcoming parliamentary elections. Morawiecki also proposed mandatory military training for all parliamentarians under the age of 60 to promote national security and social cohesion.
