Planadas Mayor targeted in armed intimidation incident

In Planadas, Tolima, armed men interrupted a community event for a bridge inauguration in the La Esmeralda rural area. The assailants reportedly pointed weapons at Mayor Juan Camilo Hueje and disarmed his security detail, seizing their service weapons before fleeing. The Conservative Party has denounced the incident, identifying the attackers as members of the Frente Jerónimo Galeano, a faction of FARC dissidents, and calling for increased protection for the mayor and his administration.
