Law enforcement conducts drug trafficking arrests in Belgium and the Netherlands

Law enforcement agencies in Belgium and the Netherlands have conducted several operations targeting drug trafficking and smuggling.

In the Netherlands, the Cargo HARC team—comprising police, customs, and the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD)—arrested four employees of a freight handling company at Schiphol Airport. The investigation is examining whether airport logistics processes were exploited to import narcotics. Authorities searched various homes and warehouses, seizing cash and mobile phones.

In Belgium, the Lier police conducted separate operations resulting in three arrests. One suspect, a 40-year-old man, was detained after police observed a suspected drug transaction in a vehicle, leading to the seizure of cocaine, hashish, cash, and drug paraphernalia. A second operation involving an ANPR camera alert led to the arrest of a 44-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, who were found with cocaine and cannabis.

Dutch authorities noted that their investigation into Schiphol involves cooperation with Belgian police, which coincided with the dismantling of a drug laboratory in Belgium.
