Law enforcement reports arrests in Budapest and forestry crimes in Hargita

In Budapest, police conducted a month-long comprehensive law enforcement operation, resulting in the apprehension of 252 individuals. During the period, authorities verified the identities of over 11,000 people and brought 195 individuals before authorities. The arrests and legal actions involved various offenses, including robbery, drug-related crimes, theft, and disorderly conduct, as well as interventions against wanted persons and drunk drivers.

Authorities noted that many public space issues are linked to complex social, social, and health factors. Consequently, the Budapest Police Headquarters is coordinating with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Family, the Budapest municipality, and various social service organizations to seek long-term solutions.

In Hargita County, Romania, authorities reported 102 forestry crimes during the first seven months of the year, leading to the seizure of over 1,500 cubic meters of timber. While illegal logging has decreased compared to previous years, officials noted that perpetrators are using increasingly sophisticated methods to bypass the SUMAL 2.0 timber tracking system. Law enforcement is now calling for the implementation of the SUMAL 3.0 system to improve monitoring effectiveness.
