Lawson launches regional gourmet festival across Japan

Lawson is launching its ‘Glocal Gourmet Festival’ across eight regions in Japan, featuring a lineup of products developed in collaboration with local specialty shops and regional ingredients. The campaign, which begins on August 18, 2026, focuses on signature items such as ‘Karaage-kun’ fried chicken and ‘Premium Roll Cakes’.

In the Tohoku region, offerings include a Karaage-kun flavor inspired by Calbee’s Kappa Ebisen with garlic soy sauce, and a Premium Roll Cake inspired by Sendai’s famous Zunda Shake, supervised by Zunda Saryo. Other regional items include rice balls and noodles supervised by local establishments like Akita’s Ramen Machine Gun and Yamagata’s Sakaya Honten.

The nationwide rollout covers Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto (North and South), Tokai-Hokuriku, Kansai, Chugoku-Shikoku, and Kyushu. Each area features unique flavors, such as Hokkaido melon roll cakes, Kyushu soy sauce-flavored Karaage-kun, and Ehime’s Bansankan roasted garlic sauce flavors, allowing customers to experience local tastes through convenience store staples.
