Lawyer claims attack on Nadia Beller was staged political stunt

Margarita Arce, the lawyer representing Fernando Cerimedo, has alleged that the recent attack on Nadia Beller was a self-inflicted political stunt designed to destabilize the government of President Rodrigo Paz.

Cerimedo, a former advisor to Javier Milei, was detained in Bolivia following an incident in Santa Cruz de la Sierra where Beller, a former MAS deputy candidate and associate of Evo Morales, was shot. Arce claims the defense has evidence to prove the attack was staged by Beller to gain political leverage and potentially to prevent the imminent capture of Evo Morales.

Arce further clarified that while there was a past personal acquaintance between Cerimedo and Beller, he is not the father of her child. She also dismissed any involvement by the Argentine government in the incident and stated that the possession of 40,000 bolivianos found at Cerimedo’s property does not constitute a crime.
