Lawyer for Koldo García seeks PSOE's formal dissociation in Leire case
Leticia de la Hoz, the lawyer representing Koldo García in the Leire case, has requested that the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) formally certify that she has never been on the party's payroll. This request comes amid an investigation by National Court judge Santiago Pedraz into an alleged scheme intended to frustrate judicial proceedings against the government.
The defense is urging the PSOE to provide documentation from its central or territorial archives to prove there are no contracts, invoices, or payments related to De la Hoz. This move aims to expedite her dissociation from the alleged plot without waiting for a ruling from the Madrid Bar Association.
Judge Pedraz previously granted the PSOE a 15-day deadline to provide data regarding lawyers contracted by the party between 2021 and 2025. The PSOE has expressed concerns regarding whether releasing this information might violate professional secrecy and is currently awaiting guidance from the General Council of the Spanish Bar.
