Lazio and Italian Space Agency partner to boost aerospace sector

The Lazio Region and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) have signed a framework agreement in Rome to strengthen the regional aerospace supply chain and promote technological innovation. To support this initiative, the Lazio Region announced 115 million euros in funding, including two calls for proposals in collaboration with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. These funds target strategic sectors such as aerospace, artificial intelligence, and pharmaceuticals, as well as the STEP program for European strategic technologies.

In a separate initiative during the sixth IILA World Space Week, the International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA) hosted a meeting focused on space access and benefits for Latin America. The event highlighted space research as a vital tool for addressing global challenges, including natural disaster prediction, agricultural support, and sustainable development through scientific diplomacy between Italy and Latin American nations.
