Lazio delays Tirreno 1 public transport network, prompting local criticism in Cerveteri

The Lazio regional government announced that the transition to the new Tirreno 1 public‑transport network will be postponed to autumn 2026, with the start date set for 30 September 2026. The service will continue to be provided by the current operator until the hand‑over, after which Astral S.p.A. is expected to take over management.

Local civic group Unione dei Valori warned that the regional reform, which creates the Tirreno Nord network unit, could further isolate the peripheral fractions of Cerveteri. The group called for on‑demand transport, integrated mobility hubs and a permanent negotiation table with the regional authority to protect the mobility rights of residents in the town’s outlying areas.
