Lazio health push: free screenings in Pescina and new community center in Tarquinia

On July 16, the town of Pescina organised a free health‑screening day offering cortisol blood tests and PSA tests for prostate health. The event was coordinated by the non‑profit I Girasoli APS with the backing of the Pescina municipality, and participants had to book in advance.

Three days earlier, on July 13, the new Casa della Comunità in Tarquinia was inaugurated. Funded with about €1.8 million from the national recovery plan (Pnrr), the facility serves roughly 50,000 residents from twelve neighbouring municipalities and brings together primary‑care services, specialist outpatient clinics, vaccination, mental‑health, addiction, sport‑medicine and preventive‑screening programmes. The opening is part of a wider upgrade of the local hospital complex that has attracted more than €13 million in public investment.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen preventive health care and expand access to medical services across the Lazio region.
