Lazio launches road safety campaign for youth

The Lazio Region has launched a new road safety awareness campaign titled ‘#InStradaSkippaIlResto’ to target younger drivers. The initiative follows critical statistics from Istat, which reported 21,240 accidents, 319 deaths, and 27,694 injuries across the Lazio territory.

To engage youth, the campaign utilizes social media, music, and content creators to promote responsible driving habits, such as maintaining safe distances, avoiding smartphone use, and respecting speed limits. The project is a collaboration between the Region, DiSCo Lazio, Astral, and various non-profit organizations.

In addition to the awareness campaign, Lazio Governor Francesco Rocca has proposed a legislative change to the Italian Parliament. The proposal seeks to make first aid training, specifically cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, a mandatory requirement for obtaining a driver’s license.
