Lazio launches 'Solo un sì' campaign to boost organ donation consent

The Lazio regional government unveiled the "Solo un sì" organ and tissue donation campaign in Rome, urging citizens to record their consent when obtaining or renewing their electronic identity card. The visual features an ID card with a central heart linked to seven people, symbolising the potential to save up to seven lives through a single decision.

President Francesco Rocca highlighted the campaign’s positive, solidarity‑focused messaging and called on the Health Ministry to allow consent to be given in pharmacies as well. The initiative will appear on ATAC vehicles, Cotral buses, metro stations, printed and digital media, and in 120 cinemas across the region. Associations and the Regional Transplant Centre are co‑ordinating outreach.

Statistics from the first half of 2026 show a 26% rise in potential donors, a 45% increase in donors used, and a 38% growth in transplants compared with the previous year, reflecting the impact of prior awareness efforts.
