Lazio region funds modern hearing aids for 3,500 residents

The Lazio regional administration has revised the tariff list for hearing‑aid devices, raising the reimbursement amount to €1,750 per unit (up from €1,263). The change means that the full cost of modern, advanced hearing aids will be covered by the region for about 3,500 people with hearing loss, eliminating any out‑of‑pocket expense. The new tariff also provides a lifetime guarantee for the devices, even after patients reach adulthood, and will be supported by a network of specialised reference centres for prescription and testing. Regional President Francesco Rocca and health director Andrea Urbani highlighted the measure as a step toward greater inclusion, autonomy and transparency for patients with auditory impairments.
