Lazio region implements restrictions following African Swine Fever cases

Four confirmed cases of African Swine Fever have been identified in the municipality of Riano, prompting the Lazio Region to implement strict containment measures. Following the confirmation of these cases by the national reference center, the regional crisis unit—comprising health, environment, and agriculture departments—has been activated to manage the outbreak.

New regional ordinances have introduced restrictions across several municipalities in the Metropolitan City of Rome, including Riano, Formello, Campagnano di Roma, and Monterotondo. These measures include increased surveillance of wild boar populations, farm inspections, and prohibitions on hunting, picnics, and public gatherings in affected areas to prevent further spread.
