Fiumicino and Lazio Region sign agreement to transfer 150 public assets

The Lazio Region and the Municipality of Fiumicino have signed a historic agreement to transfer the management of approximately 150 real estate assets and public areas to the local municipality. The assets include roads, parking lots, agricultural land, green spaces, school buildings, and sports facilities.

Supported by a 780,000 euro allocation for technical and administrative activities, the plan aims to resolve long-standing ownership fragmentation that has hindered the maintenance and redevelopment of these areas. The initiative is part of a broader urban regeneration strategy, with a goal to complete the assignment and valorization of these spaces within five years.

Key priority areas identified for the transfer include public roads, green spaces, and specific sites such as the Borgo dei Bonificatori in Isola Sacra and municipal offices in Borgo Palidoro. Regional Councilor Fabrizio Ghera and Fiumicino Mayor Mario Baccini presented the agreement, emphasizing its role in restoring the historical and identity-driven value of the territory to the citizens.
