Lazio stadium project faces critical architectural and regulatory hurdles

The development of the Lazio football club stadium project at Flaminio is facing critical upcoming milestones. A key step involves the Rome municipal government deciding on the concession of public interest, a decision expected by October. Journalist Giulio Cardone notes that while there is optimism between club president Claudio Lotito and the municipal administration, the project's progress depends on addressing specific requirements from the Superintendency.

Lazio is reportedly obligated to implement two major architectural changes: maintaining the canopy (pensilina) that was previously slated for removal and lowering the height of the second tier, which would reduce the stadium's capacity to approximately 43,000 spectators. Without these interventions and a resolution on the economic aspects, the project's future remains uncertain.
